If you haven’t read it, follow this link to my review of Inception.

It’s Summertime!

Even if you’re responsible and have a job and have to be at work Friday, come on man, it’s summertime! Celebrate the free summers you used to have by going to the movies late. Do it for the kid in you. Besides, this is a weak summer for movies, Inception is your best bet to go to a midnight movie and actually enjoy it, unless you’re a teenage girl and the midnight showing of Eclipse was better than your wedding night will be.

All the Cool Kids Will be There

But seriously, half the experience is the people you’re with, and I guarantee the crowd at the midnight showing of Inception will be a crowd of serious movie fans. If you want to sit with the Twihards who came to see “that guy from 500 Days of Summer,” go Friday night. Your funeral.

Pansy.

Speaking of that Guy…

Inception is the first collaboration between Christopher Nolan and Joseph Gordon-Levitt who is rumored as a top candidate for the role of Riddler in Batman 3. The sooner you see Inception, the sooner you can bring the hammer down on your friends in the debate over whether Levitt can cut it as the Riddler. If Levitt rocks in Inception, I’m jumping on the bandwagon, and you should too. Although personally, I think Ralph Fiennes would make a very sinister Riddler…

To Reward the Viral Campaign

I love that some studios are turning to viral marketing to heighten interest in their movies. Chris Nolan has pushed for viral ads on both The Dark Knight and Inception. I think they’re great; they extend the world of the movie a little further into our world creating a much more complete experience, and I’d like to see more of them. In case you missed it, here’s the YouTube video of Nolan’s supposed sleep science research.

Because It’s Gonna be AWESOME!

The last two movies to have me in this much of a frenzy before their release were The Dark Knight, Christopher Nolan’s last movie, and Shutter Island, Leonardo DiCaprio’s last film. Inception has Nolan and Leo. The powerful duo is joined in what should be an epic, mindbending thriller, a genre that Nolan has perfected. Neither of them has made a really BAD film since 2000 when DiCaprio starred in The Beach, so odds are good that Inception will be AWESOME! Or you could go see The Last Airbender. I heard Roger Ebert liked it ;)
